Well Celtic back then would be a force to be reckoned in Europe, had players like Henrik Larsson, Mjallby, Neil Lennon, Petrov and others, reached the UEFA cup final and were regularly featuring in the Champions League. 

The club is more or less at the same level as it used to be back then, but other European clubs are now miles ahead of Celtic.

i think this celtic team is about as good as that celtic team was .

larsson and sutton who was his perfect foil apart .

better keeper now , better midfield now .

not as tight defensively and of course no larsson and sutton .

a couple more players this season added and could be back to holding our own in europe but you must remember we do not have a fraction of the money these so called big clubs have .

some of them with no real history or no real success before they got the money . man city , chelsea , psg as examples .
