I had an email from BT telling me off for sharing a movie lol.

I understand that a VPN will enable me to download and share torrents.

Is this correct?

Anyone use one?

My pc protection is provided by F-Secure which includes an excellent vpn called Freedome, it cost me £10 per year, and does not affect my speed.

There are lots of freebies out there also, the previous one I used was Hotspot Shield which was very good but did slow down my computer somewhat.

Hope this helps.

Normally you would activate the VPN when you want to access torrent sites blocked in the UK such as Pirate Bay etc. I use BitTorrent for my downloads which opens automatically when I open click the magnet link. I have BT Infinity and never had any communication from BT regarding Downloads useage, which I use a lot, so do you have a download limit or an unlimited plan?

As an aside £24 seems excessive for 6 month VPN service. Just a thought.
