saw the beef carpacio on the menu board and was looking forward to seeing your review, next time

How many reviews do you need? Get your ass over there and try it. Maybe write a few words here how you liked it.

Hurry before it is sold.

Some pics in the post above got deleted, as I cannot edit that post I put them here again:

No problem, didn't come across that way, but going back to lurking isn't what I (or headmaster Mulphy) want.

I like to see people actually trying the places and giving feedback otherwise I feel that my efforts are a waste of time.

Looks like Yotins has closed already.

Hope someone will try my next suggestion, before it goes dark as well.

Max&Moritz has been on the Darkside for some time but recently ownership changed and some changes to the menu and exteriors were made. In post 35 of this thread I gave a preview, though some things are not valid anymore.

The beergarden has been extended to what was before 2 parking spaces.

The umbrellas are now in front and the former area has been covered by a roof.

A pool table has been added.

Food used to be German only, now there is some British influence as well and some Thai food for the ladies.

For the beer lovers: German Flensburger draft beer.

I usually drink the wheat beer:

Today GF enjoyed some Rad Na, huge portion she could not finish (100 Baht)

post-111-0-36949400-1446819538_thumb.jpg

My favorit is this one: Schnizel Gypsie style with fried potatos and side salad. Normally the sauce comes in a gravy boat.

post-111-0-76676600-1446819560_thumb.jpg

Looks huge but is cut very thin.

Today I had the hunter style which tastes very nice as well.

post-111-0-65833200-1446819540_thumb.jpg

Another favorite is the Roulade (beef roll), 220 Bt.

post-111-0-80427900-1446819548_thumb.jpg

Max&Moritz was never busy, except for the days they had pork knuckle and grilled chicken special.

Now it is pretty much deserted. Hope they can pull through. There are now 2 ladies working only, food took a bit long despite we were the only guests.

Toilet could be cleaner.

If you order the Schnitzel, it usually comes with fried potatos despite french fries being stated on the menu, because most of the customers prefer them (they taste lovely). Make it clear when ordering what you want.

You find M&M on the Soi Khao Noi, driving up from the railway turn left at the 7-11 on top of Khao Noi, drive past the Blue Moose, Dukes lounge, Herbs and a stone throw after the triangular crossing with the family mart you will find it to your right.

Closed on Mondays.

Places look deserted. As an aside I wonder how long they keep fresh food in these places?

Food looks good though.

Haus am See (Lakeside house)

As there are so many fans of German food on the forum: here is another gem on the darkside, directly at Mabprachan lake.

Should have a nice view in day time.....

23736089xe.jpg

..which can be enjoyed through the large window from the inside as well.

23736102ec.jpg

Some more tables on the veranda.....

23736095ep.jpg

...which features a treasure chest full of sausages and others.

23736106hd.jpg

This buddy had probably plenty of them, could hardly walk. Doesn't bite according to the service but he looks pretty mean.

23736126qo.jpg

Now the food. I knew they had Bavarian style roast pork, so didn't study the menu very carefully. Plenty of German food, you lot will probably not like it anyway.

Side salad:

23736135mj.jpg

The roasted pork.

23736162ti.jpg

GF had a version with bacon an mushrooms which were a bit hidden under the meat and asked for rice instead of the Spätzle.

23736167ff.jpg

Found the salad a bit disappointing, should feature something more, like cabbage or beet root. Suggested this to the boss who told me that he will take it into consideration.

Otherwise it tasted nice and was a good portion, the mushrooms were especially tasty.

Bill: 2 x pork ( 240 / 265 Baht with mushrooms), 1 glass of wine (110 Baht), 1 Weihenstephan Weizen (210 Baht), 1 Leo beer, all together 885 Baht.

Thai food will be available at a later stage.

Not many mosquitos, similar to other places on the darkside.

Will be officially opened on 29th of November, more info on the [edit] new facebook page https://www.facebook.com/hausamseepattaya

Looks spacious, well decorated and clean, with a nice view.

The food looked presentable and it sems there are a number of places around 'The lake' which serve decent food.

Appreciate the review, once again.

You got to give credit where credit is due.

My lunch just arrived and the regular Moto bike taxi lad immediately pointed out on my bill that the delivery charge was wrong.

The young boy is a credit to you WnR.

He deserved his tip.

And the food is spot on as always, thanks.

Back to the "Haus am See".

This time I had the Allgäuer Schnitzel with smoked ham, Emmentaler Cheese and mushrooms.

Such a dish makes a journey worth. Would have been even better with Allgäuer cheese, but this is difficult to get.

This pic of the service is especially for Galee :ice: :

Thought I gave them in the former post. Drive SCC to Maprachan, after the temple there is the sharp left turn, then you already can see the large sign "Haus am See" on the right.

Will go probably on the 29th when they have their official opening.
