Gents, I bought one of these Minix Neo 7 boxes from Lanzalad yesterday, haven't had much chance to play with it yet, Sunday is my drinking day after all, but I was watching Sky News on the 'Cloud TV' application, worked well, haven't had time to test the XBMC Gotham version yet, but have downloaded some zip file 'repos' to install tonight.

post-53271-0-82799100-1402285393_thumb.j

I can wholeheartedly recommend this box, at the price Lanzalad is selling them for it's a steal, the Xtreamer with the same spec, probably from the same factory, is priced at 139 Euros, approx 6,500 Baht, and they will ship it from Honk Kong via DHL and sting you for 'tax' on top.

Buy one, really, it's the deal of the year.

Just been watching this little lot and taken a few shots with my phone,

i've been ask by a few members how does the interface work, well i've android based so for anyone who knows android will know how easy it is to use.

here's a few more shots.

This is what you get when you start the box

all the apps are set out like tiles so it makes it easy to use.

post-53412-0-51464300-1402299236_thumb.j

This is the interface inside one of the apps you just scroll up and down and you can make a short list as you find channels you'll be watching most of the time.

I would be interested but I am in Hua Hin. Can I just ask what are the basics. It is run on your PC or via the TV. I have TOT Internet coming in to the house, I run my PC on it with wi fi for the lap top and androids. I have a TV in my bedroom that is a smart TV (never used it for internet but just is powered up and has CTH on via their box. What device is this for use with, can it be set up for my TV in the bedroom or must it be limited to my PC I am not tech savvy so need to simple.

Hooks up to your TV, looking forward to watching the first couple of hours of the 1st Test against Sri Lanka tonight from 10 p.m. on Sky Sports 2.

You know i've lived here 20+ years and was never really bothered by the lack of British TV available, but now through this box I can watch BBC, ITV, Sky News and Sky Sports, I'm lovin' it.

Ok I am interested but which one do I want for the UK TV programs that run via my Samsung Smart TV in the bedroom. Can it sit independently in my bedroom picking up the TOT wi fi signal and then with an HDMI cable link from the box to the TV. Is that how it works.

yes .

Ok, still interested. Is it a one off for the box and then the UK channels are free (i.e no subscription costs), does the device just pick up the signal like a digital Sky Box or True box but from the WIFI capability and that is the deal, the box just deciphers the signal from the WIFI.

Yes, it's all IPTV, Internet Protocol TV through a broadband link, why don't you simply PM Lanzalad for all the details, but he has two happy customers this week, make it three.

No you are correct, I should PM him.

Thanks, sounds like a good deal. Last question though, the one that you and Mulphy have, is it the 4000 baht box, not sure which one I should be asking for?

For myself, yes I bought the top one at 4,000 Baht, plus 600 for the mini keyboard remote, which I'm trying to get the hang of, but it's better than the tiny one that comes as standard supplied with the box.

This made me order the Neo x8h, damnit. I just got my Raspberry Pi a few weeks ago and that one has worked very good as a media center.

But these tv boxes kicks that raspberry's ass.

Oh well, I just sell the raspberry pi to me old folks for a few dollars.
