  1. So what you are advocating is open borders? I swear you've been on here before effing and blinding about the Polish and every other nationality.
  2. Easier said than done in a foreign language I guess. Having said that if enough effort is put in and with the right guidance it should be possible.
  3. I’m new here

I don't know. I think Pattaya brings out the absolute eejit in some folk.
  4. I’m new here

Welcome to the madhouse. Yes you can meet Thai women and make it work. Depends on you and your character. Some abandon all common sense as soon as the plane hits the tarmac. Have fun.
  5. What benefit to the UK is someone just because they pass a 'life in the UK' test. A test which is in all but name a British general knowledge exam. It would be better for the UK to scrap the test and ensure that those seeking to stay in the UK have relatively well paid jobs, no criminal records and are able to speak, read and write English to GCSE standard.
  6. Switzerland and Germany in my experience are the two counties Thai's I have met seem to want to either visit or reside in. Thailand has some historical connections to each country particularly through the royal institution. Many Thais including the younger generation are infatuated with K-Pop, Korean and Japense culture.
  7. I laughed when I read America in the same sentence in world leader. Some craic that guy. 😂😂😂
  8. The EU isn't cherry picking though. That was down to freedom of movement that the UK signed up to at that time. Of course the government is trying to cherry pick who it does and doesn't let into the country via various immigration policies but it is absolutely impossible to have a system that keeps everyone happy. There will be a lot of people out there who will say 'so what if she failed the life in the UK test, kick her out'. That's the truth of it all. Immigration is one tough nut to crack and my sympathy is with decent, hard working folk like matty and davethailand etc.
  9. Disgusting as it that's what the people wanted. You can't cherry pick an immigration policy it is almost impossible. There will always be people caught in the crossfire.
  10. I don't mean to be cruel and this is certainly not with reference to the op but some people just aren't smart enough. I know Brits who have failed their driving test after multiple attempts. Some people are just a little bit 'slower' upstairs. You do have a point though. Get the books out and just study, study, study. A good tactic is to write out all the questions and answers repeatedly. Keep doing it and keep reading them. Stay off the alcohol and get plenty of sleep and your brain will start to retain the information. It will be locked in your sub conscious memory. I would get a tutor in as well. Doesn't have to be an expensive one maybe just a student on a pgce programme.
  11. How much does one have to earn if they are employed to get a Thai wife to the UK. Not that I'm married or even have a Thai gf just interested.
