Centara Avenue.

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow I shall check in to the Centara Avenue. Looks pretty good and got an opening offer of about 1300 baht per night.

It is accessible from Soi Diana, just above the Areca Lodge, and Soi 15. Curiously it is a Jewish hotel and the lifts stop at every floor so you don't have to do any work on Shabbat.

More info to follow.

Got the price wrong it was 4900 ish baht for three nights.

To get to it you enter a small Soi off Soi Diana not Soi 15 as the name suggests.

First impressions are good.

Could you swing a dead cat round your head without hitting a wall ? I think most of the rooms are quite small.

Not the biggest rooms in the world.

Finally made it down for breakfast which is on the second floor and apart from the Shabbat lift it is where you definitely notice a Jewish touch. A lot of Hebrew writing about and a large mural of Moses parting the Red Sea. There is a room next to where I'm sat with some religious service going on.

Breakfast comes in two choices the only difference I could spot was set one had eggs and two had rice. So scrambled eggs for me along with coffee, water, a salad, toast and fresh fruit.
