Tanks and planes. The Dutch NMM Soesterberg.

Recommended Posts

Set on an old and now unused ex- USAF and Royal Dutch Air Force military airfield, lies the NMM (Nationaal Militare Museum) of all 3 arms of the Dutch Military (Navy, Army and Air Force). Located in quite an isolated area, its not all that hard actually to find and get to on public transport. The whole airfield is now been turned into a wildlife park and the museum takes over the main ramp area of the airfield.

Nice pics. Remember the days back English Electric Lightning, Hawker Hunter etc.. and the TSR2!! that was cancelled by Heally. Would have put UK light years ahead of the US at the time. Used the Olympus engine later modified for Concord.

Its bigger than just that building. Off to the left are a further 2 more hangers/maintenance huts with other aircraft parts and exhibits. But i didn't have the time to check these out as i was worried abut finding my way back to the train station and onwards to Amsterdam.
