Brendan Rodgers to Leicester City ????

Would like to thank him for the invincible season

Would like to thank him for the first ever double treble

Would like to thank him for the 7 out of 7 domestic trophies

but how any so called self proclaimed Celtic man could walk out on his club at this important stage of the season, where if he hung around for another 3 months could have left with his head held high always to be welcomed back and treated with genuine warmth from the support.

Now his legacy is in tatters with the support (rightly so) to join Leicester FFS  Leicester FFS  Leicester FFS - what a complete tadger.

Good post

Even for his own career it's a very strange move. Another five months at Celtic could have sealed another treble. He has jumped the gun for a mid-table finish at Leicester. His relationship with lawell must have been really awful, or, the money at Leicester was too good to refuse.

What's the overall feeling amongst Celtic fans to lennon's return. Just briefly looking through twitter (I know it's not exactly reliable) there seems to be mixed feelings.

See I know how Al and others feel as Celtic are my second team and always always have been since 1967. Lions of Lisbon etc and even before.

At West Ham we adored Payet made him into a superstar fucked off in January and same with Arnautovic ...... no problem go in Summer and we can treasure your memories. IT'S THE TIMING !!!!!!!! ...... feel sick to be honest and I like Leicester obviously. SAD !!!! :puking-smiley:

In my opinion, he's yesterday's man and should be nowhere near the manager's office.

The board has thought this quick-fire replacement will appease the fans and make them look decisive.

A  mess.

Even Pardew could manage your lot to the treble. Brenda has done the right thing and good luck to him. Your boardroom drove him to this,  nothing else.

I believe it's an interim role? So he could be gone again in the summer. I would imagine Celtic will still win the league.

Good post from a fans view , the football gravy train 🚞 sweeps all the above away , he has built his name up again so is cashing in ...

5 million plus a year , how long is contract ?

He like most managers don’t care about the club it’s just a job , if a person comes along and doubles your salary ... they are off ...

Sadly that’s modern day football

Just demonstrates the priorities between mid table premier league and Scottish football. Basically confirms Scottish football is pants......(for the small number that didn’t know it already).

you know nothing about scottish football mate so why make nasty comments .

money is the only difference between the 2 .

rodgers left celtic because him and the chief executive were at loggerheads .

the epl dwarfs scottish football in tv revenue by about 100 times , so money is a factor too .

leicester city shouldnt be talked about in the same breath as celtic . there simply is no comparison .

celtic , sevco , aberdeen , kilmarnock and hibs would compete with all but a handful of teams in the much hyped epl .

his contract is 4 and a half years but leicester have had 4 managers in the last 3 and a half years .

he will last a season .

and you know , he wont care .

ive been reading a lot of whats been written since yesterday and its emerging that brendan rodgers wasnt seen to be committed to celtic by the players and directors .

its emerged that he apparently has a massive ego .

moussa dembele alluded to rodgers being the reason he left celtic .

peter lawwell also has a massive ego hence the clash .

he tried to leave last pre season but the job he saught in china fell through .

you can see celtic made no effort to try and keep him .

Sure it’s 22.5 million .... he may even mess up on purpose , as Scolari did at the Rent Boys .. 3 months then sacked 🤣🤣🤣

If he does a season , he nicks 22.5 in one year ... 🤣🤣

I think he will care , it’s probably his plan .... that’s how messed up the game is .... He won’t want to stay there  4.5 years that’s a fact.. he will care if he stuck there a few years ...

Its all pretty tawdry ....

An interesting observation

One factor was missing from Brendan Rodgers’ departure from Celtic for Leicester City- best wishes or thanks from any of the players he left behind.

Social media reactions are a regular feature as managers move on but there wasn’t a single message posted on line from the Celtic players. In his cringe-worthy departure message Rodgers described the players glowingly claiming ‘Every one of them will be a friend for life.’

It seems that that sentiment isn’t two way.

He is a wide eyed irish version of Pardew.

CHRIS SUTTON has implied there may have been talks going on before any official move was made for Brendan Rodgers by Leicester and that Celtic allowing him to speak to the club so quickly tells its own story.

It seemingly happened so fast with Rodgers declaring his intent to the board on Monday afternoon with Celtic fans waking up on Tuesday with the news their manager was all but gone.

The speed of the move was stunning and it’s left Celtic supporters in a state of shock.

However, Sutton has tried to make sense of the mess Brendan Rodgers created by wondering when the official courting of the Irishman took place and how everything seemed to fall into place very quickly.

When you think how long negotiations could be protracted, especially for a manager who needs to negotiate a contract he’s happy with along with budgets, coaching staff etc – it was all just too convenient.

Speaking about the move in his column for RecordSport Sutton said:

“Lawwell and the board could have dug their heels in and refused Rodgers permission to speak with Leicester at this time of the season.

“The fact they didn’t really does tell its own story.

“The fact the move to the King Power has come about with such speed would also make you suspicious that Leicester’s plan didn’t just come out of the blue.”

It's very rare such a successful manager leaves in such circumstances. He's getting stick from fans, players don't seem bothered etc.

Why would he ? Look at Mourhino , gets adverts on back of it , Ryan Giggs brother ...

He has always been a money chaser , if he does half well at Leicester ... he will be off elsewhere , if he does bad with a big pay off...
