The Tongue

'i Pizza' Soi Khao Noi

Recommended Posts

Been passed this place many times and tonight was no different as I was on my way to the Csc Bei Werner German Restaurant. My babe then says she fancies a pizza and I kind of thought 'why not' so we just walked in to this 'I Pizza' restaurant a few doors before.

It was early about 6pm so not busy, we were the only patrons. Pla the young service lady gave us a nice bright menu which to be honest was mainly pizzas but a very good selection. The boss (Italian), Pla's boyfriend disappeared into the back obviously ready to prepare our meals. Luckily I asked how big the pizzas were and was promptly told they are all 14" size so it was obvious 1 would do for both of us. We selected the 'Zidane' which consisted of Tomato sauce, double mozzarella, anchovies, mushrooms and Parma ham. I asked if we could change the Parma Ham for 'Speck' which is also a type of ham that has been cured in salt and spice's such as garlic, bay leaves, juniper berries and nutmeg (I did Google that). It was 380 baht but quite a special pizza. Quite a few of his pizzas have a football induced name, there is even a Beckham.

The Pizza was more than enough for me and Porn but we washed it down with half a litre of white wine for 300 baht, very nice. It was finished off with a Tiramisu for Porn and Lemoncello Truffle ice-cream for me. The deserts were 120 baht each and very filling, sorry no photo.

Now as there was nobody else around Pla engaged in conversation with both of us letting us know how the business was doing and just generally talking about the customers who come by. It appears quite a few guys come by to see her and I totally understand that, she is a beautiful girl but very happy with her boyfriend. It was funny to hear her talk about guys who come in and ask how much is a coke or a beer and complain about the prices (40 baht for a coke, 60 baht for a beer), they don't seem to ask about the pizzas which are easily identified on the menu. She is a smart cookie and I have decided that if you want to know who are the cheap charlies around us, just ask a Thai. Anyhow she is happy for me to put the menu on here and hopes that more people will come by to try their fayre. I thought the pizza was lovely, to be honest quite large even for the two of us, would easily keep 1 guy and 2 girls happy. They will deliver but mainly just to the Khoi Noi immediate vicinity (add 10baht to prices). I think worthwhile going in. It was funny but I always passed by thinking the guy in there was Thai, he is in fact the Italian boyfriend who is a little shy. Worth going to just to see Pla.

The lovely lady Pla: (apologies for the quality, I was shaking)!

Of course the all important menu with prices, this is the take away menu, there are a few other items on the in-house menu, worth a visit:

She is 37 kilos of pure dynamite, 21 years old but really lubbed up with her boyfriend. She is really friendly but it will be the pizzas only available if going there and they are worth it for sure.

Pizza looks great,

No wonder you were shaking, the picture of Pla is the second reason to go in there - not sure which comes first ?

Yes Pla has a certain presence. She is only 21 (22 on July 1) but quite a smart cookie; without trying to stereotype I think she may have a little bit of Pattaya in her blood but she seems set on trying to help her boyfriend secure a thriving business although both of them think they probably would do better at another location. She also would like to have a double shop front so as to have more tables outside, she believes they are just being passed by as the frontage is not that big. The pizzas are big though and I think the prices for a restaurant are ok. She is from Surin and says she doesn't know many people around so if you fancy a meal with your other half I think she would appreciate the extra company. Porn put her onto a few of her friends in the parlour nearby who come from Surin or Buriram. I wish her well but wish she would dress down a bit, I had difficulty in eating my pizza. Her boyfriend is a lucky guy. Finally I do have a phobia about piercings, jewelery etc and she does have 2 in her chin and lip but I found I would go in there again for a pizza, no problem.

Pizza looks good Dave, I'll have to try it.

Glad there isn't a Drogba on the menu, it would probably keep falling on the ground :party-smiley-048:

Did the ownership of this place change recently?

Been there last year and had the worst spaghetti carbonara ever, full of oil and no taste. Never went back.

Remember seeing a girl there but she didn't really caught my attention, so might have been a different one.

Furniture was different as well - white painted wooden stools.

Pla told me they had been there less than 2 months so I suppose the answer is 'Yes' and if you had seen Pla she would certainly have caught your attention!
