Future Plans For Virgin To Fly To Bangkok

Recommended Posts

Saw this on Virgin Atlantic's website today: No time frame but it would be good for the consumer as competition should make fares cheaper.

WHAT OTHER NEW ROUTES DOES VIRGIN ATLANTIC HAVE PLANNED FOR THE FUTURE?

Virgin Atlantic is always looking at new route opportunities. Our current wish list of new routes includes Melbourne, Bangkok, Toronto, Rio and Seattle!

I was hoping it might see a bit of promotional pricing, at least at first. What would be interesting is if their Bangkok flight went on to Melbourne as that route could do with a bit of extra seating as well. A place I would like to go to but doesn't seem a lot of flights.

Whatever their options are, it's almost certain that Bangkok would be a stopover on the way to Oz. I don't think they could sustain a cheap(ist) fare on the LHR to BKK route.

They have been doing LHR-HKG-SYD for many years. Used to be a cool airline upperclass was great. But everyone caught up and passed them for IFS and they lost their mojo. It may have improved now Haven't flown them in years. Hope they get the route.

Keep an eye on Thai air asia x hopefully they will start direct flights to Australia, preferably to Perth first of course.

BKK was spoken about a long time ago. Not sure it will happen but would be great. A great company. I think they have stopped the OZ flight from Hong Kong now.
