  1. It returned to my computer after a recent Windows update. Gone again.
  2. I'd heard good things about this place, glad to have reliable confirmation.
  3. Just simply superb posting. Thanks very much for all your hard work mate.
  4. Another excellent thread. That must have been one hell of an excellent holiday mate, one for a lifetime. Normally I agree with you that the Japanese perspective on WWII, including what they are teaching their children, appears to be badly skewed. However in this case what we're talking about is the nuking by the US of a major population center, which I think can be considered outside the context of WWII. I personally am of the opinion that nuking Japan was unnecessary. No idea what I would have thought about it if I was alive when they were considering it though.
  5. Another good review. We need to get you satellite internet so we don't lose you when you go to work. That pizza looks very good, crust the way I prefer.
  6. Great stuff mate. I visited a different DMZ overlook, Odusan Mountain Observatory, but same idea.
  7. BTW, sorry for the T/F if that's what I did.
  8. Had to search that one mate. It's a mixed bag, but here are the numbers: http://www.forbes.com/mlb-valuations/list/#page:1_sort:0_direction:asc_search:
  9. Interesting stuff, thanks for the clarification fellers. In MLB the rules were put in place to try to keep the richest teams from getting all the best players. That problem still exists, and they've done things like imposing a "luxury tax" on combined team payrolls that exceed a certain amount. Also, although it seems the free agent rules might have been a factor in keeping the top salaries down somewhat as compared to European football, at least according to web sources the average salary for a European footballer was US$2.5 million in 2012, whereas the average salary for an MLB player was US$3.4 million.
  10. Thinking more in terms of the contract though mate.
  11. Is football greatly different from that? Honest question, I have no idea.
  12. Not sure where you get your data but at least for MLB it's a lot more complicated than what you're saying, not least because of the free agency rules.
