Close to butchers its called Diana Estates

Great! Does it face onto Soi Bukhao or am I going to have to search?

I am worried about the taxi driver not going into brain lockup.

Yes the entrance is on Soi bukhao there are gates and a guard shack. It's on the same side as the butchers arms.

If you are going to arrive late at night you might check with them first to make sure you can get in.

Perfect! Thank you.

I am landing @ 9:30 pm or so and taking a short taxi ride over to a hotel close to BKK called The Cottage. There I will meet up with Noom and baby and we will travel down to Pattaya the next morning so I don't think the closed gate thing is going to be an issue. Many thanks for the info I owe you a beer - or two.

You staying 2 months boss?

Yes a full 60 days. Leave on 10th March. Going to try and return for a couple of weeks in August. In 2015 I shall make 2 x 1 month visits. I am trying to balance money with being a presence in my little girls life. I don't want her not to recognise who her daddy is however the money is in the states. I can't do as Lincsclad and live there much as i would like.

Hi izi, we have stayed on the estate 3 times now, there are I think three different management companies within the estate. The first time we stayed was with Soleil de Siam and the last two years with Diana oasis.I have found Diana Oasis managed by a Thai lady called Meow to offer far superior accomodation and not so expensive on the leccy and water.Might be worth you popping into have a word with Meow as to their availability for next year, on the other hand you might be perfectly happy with the apartment you have this year.

This is the entrance to the Estate which is sandwhiched between a7/11 and a large modern shoe shop.

There are in fact no gates which get locked at night only a barrier which is manned 24hrs a day by security who are always very courteous.

This was the view from the apartment we stayed in November just gone

Good post and an accurate one IMO. it is a condo with many apartments owned by many , some rent them out with a rental agent and there are many different rates, and charges for utilities (some well over the top).

however it is a prime location, if you don't like to use the BB or BT. It is set back from the road and the pools are nice. It is IMO for a short term rental/budget rental a hidden gem.

I am sure you will enjoy your stay there.

I think the Diane is better than the Soleil. The coffee shop isn't bad either.

The color of your cab is blue now too, I thought it was red.

No, never.

Blue most of the time and at odd times it goes red. Depends where it is parked LOL

Izi iv stayed at Diana and Soleil in the past both good and with the two pools perfect.

If your willing to pay a bit more Golden Sea Pattaya at the back of Nickys Bar on Boakhao rent two bed villas (more like townhouses) with a shared pool from the hotel.

They are 35k per month but I know they do a discount the longer you stay I do know there are some long termers in them.

Iv just left mate and have stayed there the past couple of times well worth it if you have family with you....

Thanks for the info. I looked into that and to be honest 35k is a bit rich for me. I am probably topped out at $1000 per month but who knows what 2014 will bring. This is going to be another expansion year for me and more money will change things even better.

No worries mate as I said though some long termers in there are paying a hell of a lot less

Good Luck :)

Well here we go again!

It is Sept 3 and I am looking again.

Again it is proving to be difficult.

Again I couldn't book before because I didn't know the dates.

The Diane Oasis is fully booked. Soleil isn't answering so I got gf to call. A little confused but she says they are fully booked.

I thought Pattaya was supposed to be devoid of tourists. Bullshit!

I need cooking facilities, a pool and preferably 2 bedrooms 1 in a pinch.

Any thoughts?

Well that is it for me. Got to hit the road again today having wasted all day yesterday trying to find a condo and wittering on in the forum. So much for the bookkeeping!

Can't find a condo anywhere.

The prices have gone up for stuff that is way out there. A good example is Jomtien.

I see nice places in Jomtien but there is NOTHING there. I know because I rented a condo there in 2013. It was a long walk to the beach, the baht busses don't want to stop because they are looking for a taxi fare. When you make it up to 'downtown' there is f all there. PLUS prices in the restaurants are way more than Pattaya. There is no street food, selection sucks and the nearest supermarket is 2 baht bus rides away.

This is not what I had in mind!!

Plaka says the darkside is an option.

Maybe.

Got a suggestion Phil? Something specific.

Starting to look like a hotel. That is going to be awkward when mummy and daddy want to play doctors and nurses.

BUGGER and BUGGER again!!
